Projects
Since we began our campaign towards the end of 2006, we have been focusing on
First Tower School.
Working with parents within the school, we are discussing issues of concern regarding the contents of unhealthy lunch-boxes, and ways in which they can be improved.
Following concern from some parents about the type of rewards being offered in-school for good behaviour, we are considering alternative options and ways in which we can implement them.
Thanks to a generous donation of £100 from the Co-op, the school was recently able to host a “Fruity Friday” event. The main aim of events such as these (initially introduced by the States Of Jersey Health Promotions Team) is to provide portions of fruit to the school children at a low-cost, offering an alternative to the junk-food snacks which are often brought in routinely.
